  • FAQ ~ QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COURSE(S)
    •

      QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COURSE(S):

      Q: What is the schedule of activity on our courses leading up to and following the event?
      A: Global Golf Management (GGM) once again will be managing the setup and takedown of the Rocket Mortgage Classic along with Intersport.  The hospitality structures have had minor changes from 2022 with DGC involvement to keep any structures from being built on the driving range and inside the pool area.

      The TOUR uses the term “Event Week” to denote the Monday through Sunday of the Event. This year, Event Week is June 26th through July 2nd. Monday, July 3rd is reserved as a rain date.  The TOUR uses the term “Advance Week” to denote the Monday through Sunday just prior to Event Week. This year, Advance Week is June 19th through June 25th.

      Teardown activity is anticipated to take 3 weeks to get the equipment and materials off the Tournament Course.  It will take some additional time to remove all the materials and equipment out of the compound behind 12 North green.

      Q: When will course(s) be closed for Member play?
      A: We anticipate the “Tournament Course” (2N through 18N plus 1S) will be closed for Member play beginning Friday, June 23rd. We anticipate the South (1N plus 2S through 18S) will remain open with tee times available through Saturday June 24th (see following). Players are expected to arrive late on Sunday, June 25th.

      Q: What restrictions will we have during the Event setup (Advance Week)?
      A: The PGA TOUR has standards for Events that are tailored to each venue. We do not anticipate major restrictions on Member play during the setup period.  As last year, there will be playing restrictions (such as walking only beginning Tuesday, June 20th through Thursday, June 22nd on the North Course (Tournament Course) during Advance Week.  And no Guests will be allowed on either course during Advance Week.

      Beginning Tuesday, June 20th the front parking will be closed for safety reasons while the furniture, catering and other elements are unloaded from the semi-trucks.   We will communicate when/if the front parking lot can be available for Member use on certain days of Advance Week.

      Q: Will we be able to use our member tee boxes? Will there be any other restrictions?
      A: Yes, we will be able to use our member tee boxes. As the Event nears, there may be areas within certain tee boxes that will be prohibited for use. There may be some fairway landing areas on certain holes that may be restricted as the Event nears. That is, should a ball land in a restricted area, it will require the player to drop into a designated drop area.

      Q: Will we be able to use our driving range during setup?
      A: Yes. The plan for 2023 is to keep the driving range open through Saturday June 24th.  The range will reopen on Tuesday July 4th.

      Q: What shape will our course be in after tear down?
      A: The Host Organization (Rocket Giving Fund/Intersport) acknowledges that the Club may need to make repairs to the grounds after the event.  The Host Organization will be responsible for the cost of repairs except for normal wear and tear and the restoration of areas damaged by the event would begin as the tear down progresses.
